Building Fire

2/26/2008. One minute to midnight, the Hempstead Fire Dept. was toned out for a working building fire at 538 Peninsula Blvd. Upon arrival of the first units the building was fully involved. Due to the condition of the building an exterior operation was placed in to effect. Chief Clark was in command of all operations. Harper Union Truck #1, Harper Union Engine #2, and Eagle Engine Co. #1 pumped the exterior operations. West Hempstead F.D., South Hempstead F.D., Uniondale F.D., and the Franklin Square F.D. provided assistance. The Nassau County Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
