First Working Fire of 2008

On Saturday January 26, 2008, around 2 am, the Hempstead Fire Department responded to a report of an apartment fire at 31 Miller Pl. Chief Charles was first on scene and transmitted the working fire. The fire began on the third floor of the apartment building. The fire managed to spread to the 1st and 2nd floor. Truck Co. #1 worked as first due truck and Hose Co. # 3 pumped the fire. The Fire was extinguished by F.D. personnel and under the command of Chief Charles. Mutual aid assistance was called in from the West Hempstead F.D., South Hempstead F.D., Uniondale F.D, Elmont F.D., and Baldwin F.D. The cause of the fire is under investigation of the Nassau County Fire Marshall.
