Vacant House Fire

On November 12, 2007, an early morning fire broke out on Clinton C. Boone Pl. (formerly known as Hastings Pl.) in Hempstead at approximately 2:00 A.M. Upon arrival, the Hempstead Fire Department encountered a fully involved, two-story private dwelling. Hempstead’s Harper Hook & Ladder Truck 1 was first on scene, reported a working fire, and immediately transmitted a second alarm. A water supply was secured by Southside Hose Company 2 and Reliance Engine Company 3. Three lines were stretched and placed in operation off of Hose Company 2. It took at least 1 hour to bring this fire under control. Mutual aid was provided by West Hempstead, South Hempstead, and Uniondale fire departments. Chief Scott Clark (80) was in command. Just another day in “Da Hub.”
